No one here should discuss sorority reputations, and certainly not name names, because frankly with over 200 girls in each house you really cant pigeonhole them that way. I am at a TX college and top tier is Kappa, Theta and Pi Phi. axid will always be bottom, nuf said. Then it's between Tri-Delt, Theta, and DG. "They will always be bottom" is what everyone said about APhi 15-18 years ago when they were literally stuck in a hole that was lower than AXiD! You have got to be kidding. They literally did not have any freshmen come to pref night who had Chi O and Zeta left. The University of Texas at Austin is home to more than 65 national fraternity and sorority chapters. This stereotype is, of course, hotly disputed by the Zetas themselves. . They are at orientation and are attending the Frat parties and they are watching you. They are leaders. That one looks good to me. I'm rushing KD in the fall. No one wants to say it because they have a strong tradition and are nice girls and don't really appear to be struggling for numbers or anything. My biggest piece of advice is to go into recruitment at UT with an OPEN MINDI cannot stress this enoughplease try not to listen to other girls and thier opinions of the houses, especially if they are negative. And if you think you need to be in a sorority to "be somebody" you need therapy. There is a wide variety, culturally, from one sorority to another. They used to be seen as a step above KD and ADPi, but theyve been slipping with their PCs over the last few years. This description may be related to two stereotypes about them: Unfortunately, this reputation has led most other sororities on some campuses to consider them lower-tier. Chi O is probably the most well-known sorority, especially in the South, and is a top-tier at many of those schools, not nationally. The national organization stresses "Christian ideals." Chapters are generally considered to be well-organized. Sisterhood is not a competition!! Connections not necessary but people usually have them. But be very careful not to fall in love with anyone specifically. Sweeping generalizations all around. Greek life at UT has been wonderful for my daughter, but she had to go in with an open mind and keep it. One of the "top" sororities in this write-up just had to shut down their chapter, and one of the "mid-tier" sororities has so many top women that it's almost embarrassing to the other sororities on campus. Kappa Delta (KD) is considered an up-and-coming sorority, one that has risen to the top-tier in terms of reputation in recent decades. ALL have very rich girls and fake girls. Many consider them obsessed with their looks and say they have a reputation for body image issues. Those young ladies are awesome. plan on rushing and MEET THE GIRLS. Nice girls tho who are looking for a sisterhood. Zeta I went DG, (slu++y/partners) reputation but undeserved, except for 30-40%. They actually drop out of recruitment than pledge a bottom tier sorority, like kappa Kappa Gamma or DZ. If KD is a top-tier and that is the South only. what kind of people you want to have as mentors and long-life friends, partly by reputation, but mostly by YOUR OWN GUT FEELINGS! I know for a fact a lot of Zeta's pledge class from last year hangs with the top frats, including FIJI and RHO and all the other Big Six sororities. If you pledge a sorority and then aren't sure it's right for you, make your decision before the initiation process. If you want the basics (i.e. You said nice things about every chapter just to forget dg so you could say something rude. They take sisterhood seriously and try not to get caught up in drama, which might lead to the sentiment that they're aloof and snobbish. Kappa Kappa Gamma (Kappas) are known for being rich girls.
